with heat from soil and crops, trapped tightly beneath the airtight plastic sheeting. We have witnessed countless tough scenes: male
workers keep a towel around their necks, wiping sweat far more often than picking vegetables. Female workers have large salt stains
across their sweat-soaked backs, yet they refuse to pause their work. The day before our visit, one farm worker nearly collapsed from
heatstroke inside the greenhouse. Farm owners are torn between rushing to keep up with farming schedules and fearing heat-related accidents among workers. For those
who earn their livelihoods on the land, they simply grit their teeth and endure — stopping work means losing a full day’s income. Everything changed when we handed them our solar-powered cooling hats. As gentle wind from the built-in fan swept across their faces
and dried their sweat, the woman who had nearly suffered heatstroke teared up. Wiping her eyes, she said, "I’ve worked the fields all my
life, and this is the first time I’ve stayed cool while working."
